Welcome to MyHSN

The NHS is a wonderful service, but it can be difficult to know which forms, phone calls, and appointments need to be made to get the healthcare you need out of it. New and future NHS workers also find it hard to understand.

MyHSN – Health Service Navigator – aims to tell you exactly how the system works, and get the best out of it, to your advantage. It was launched in November 2022. There are over 950 (and rising) articles and over 270 blogs. There is a new blog at least once per week.

There are two main audiences:

  • The general public. In this way, its aim is to provide all people in the UK with advice on the processes of the NHS (i.e. how it works) and how to use it better, and information about diseases written for patients.
  • It is also for a second audience:
    • Medical and other health professional students (nurses, all AHPs (allied health professionals), physician associates (PAs), advanced clinical practitioners (ACPs) etc).
    • A level students (thinking of working in the NHS) – especially those from a non-medicine/science background.
    • Junior doctors and other junior health professionals.
    • Note. For this audience these sections will especially useful: Medical Student Info; 10 Medical Facts (higher level disease information); How NHS Works, and working in the NHS sections.

All website content is written and reviewed by the following health professionals who work in the NHS. All articles are reviewed at least yearly.
