The health, weight and fitness guru’s rapid weight-loss plan is ideal to get ready for a Christmas party.
Health and fitness guru Dr Michael Mosley was renowned for his weight-loss plans, as the man behind the 5:2 and Fast 800 programmes.
The NHS doctor was known for promoting healthy and sustainable weight loss for long-term health, through action such as adopting the Mediterranean Diet.
But he was also able to help with more rapid weight loss, which comes in helpful at this time of year as people think about ditching a few pounds to be fit and healthy in time for Christmas – and to look good at the Christmas parties.
Dr Mosley, who tragically died while on holiday in Greece this summer, previously explained how some people could shed two stone in just ten weeks.
Very fast 800 diet
Dt Mosley recommended the Very Fast 800 diet for a rapid weight loss boost. The Fast 800 diet is a weight loss plan that combines intermittent fasting, a Mediterranean diet, and exercise. It was created by Dr Mosley and is based on the latest scientific research.
He said:
“Eat 800 to 1,000 calories a day, spread out over two or three low-carbohydrate meals, and try to avoid snacking. Stay on this plan for two to 12 weeks, depending on how much weight you want to lose.”
“Some people on it like to spread their 800 calories over three meals. Others find it easier to eat them in two, with a late-morning brunch and an early evening meal.”
The first stage of the diet is a rapid weight loss phase where you eat 800 calories per day for a period of 2–12 weeks. This phase is recommended for people who need to lose a significant amount of weight quickly for health reasons.
Mediterranean diet
The diet is based on a Mediterranean diet that is moderately low in carbohydrates and rich in protein, fiber, and healthy fats. Protein-rich foods include oily fish, prawns, chicken, turkey, pork, beef, eggs, beans, dairy, and nuts and seeds.
