This is easier than you think. It’s quite easy, actually.
Not all patients and doctors get on. You may have a problem with a particular consultant and do not like his/her manner or style. You may want someone that is softer or straighter or whatever.
But fortunately, most hospitals departments have 5 or more consultants.
To change yours, ring the consultant’s secretary and ask for a different consultant. You can even ask for one that is particularly skilled or experienced in your type of problem.
An alternative is to ask the hospital’s PALS team to sort it out. Their office is usually at the main entrance of the hospital. Or you can ring or email PALS.
You do not have to explain why you want to do this.
