What3words can save your life in a medical emergency
If you are walking in the Peak District and fracture your ankle, or on a remote beach and you are about to cut off by the tide, how can you get emergency help?
Maybe that place does not have a postcode (or its hard to find) or address. E.g. Chesil Beach is 18 miles (29 km) long. Hence saying ‘Chesil Beach’ to a 999 ambulance doesn’t help that much.
So. How can you guide emergency help to exactly where you are?
The answer is to click on the Whats3words app on your phone, or search your location on the Whats3words website: https://what3words.com/pretty.needed.chill
It will give you a three word summary (e.g. ‘pretty.needed.chill’) and if you give that to emergency services, they will find you much more easily. The 3 words can even direct them to which part of your house you are in.
